This week in Numeracy, 1C have been exploring Capacity.
Capacity is the amount that a container can hold. Together the students measured the capacity of a range of different sized containers, using cups of rice. They first had to order their containers from smallest to largest capacity, make an estimate as to how much they could hold, and then record the actual results. We learnt that sometimes it is hard to tell which containers hold more when they are all different shapes! We also had to be very precise with our measuring to ensure that it was accurate. Take a look at our students working super hard on this task.
