In Topic Investigation, we have been exploring Fractured Fairytales.
A fractured fairy tale is a story that uses fairy tales you know and then changes the characters, the setting, points of view, or plots. Sometimes they just change the ending.
Click here to watch the fractured fairytale of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.
Once you’ve watched it, write some of the things that are different about this fractured fairytale compared to the original version, in the comments below.
The stars of 1C have been extremely busy this term working on some arts and crafts activities for our topic of investigation, ‘Once Upon a Time’. Not only are these activities fun and engaging, but they help us to further develop our fine motor skills! Have a look below at some of our magical creations.

Our wonderful back wall
Here in 1C we have been reading and analysing a range of traditional tales, stories and fables. We have especially enjoyed some of the classic fairytales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Frog Prince.. just to name a few! My favourite classic fairytale (as 1C are definitely aware of by now) is The Little Mermaid, because when I was younger I dreamt of being a mermaid and living in the sea.
What is your favourite classic fairytale, and why? Comment below!
